Abstract
This paper presents a review of the student employee scheduling making process for the Factory @ Sacred Heart University. With an ever-increasing roster of student employees with differences in individual availability, the current, Microsoft Excel based process has become extremely tedious.
The need for a scheduling making platform is evident and would provide enormous benefits. Allowing the Factory’s Graduate Assistant to prioritize other tasks and create schedules in an efficient and automated manner. Our mobile application implements a First Come First Serve (FCFS) scheduling algorithm to incentivize student employees to input their availability as soon as it is known.
