Abstract

Sudoku is a puzzle game that can be viewed in terms of square matrices. In particular, we will find that the largest possible eigenvalue for a three by three Sudoku submatrix is the square root of two hundred eighty-five. This will be found using the Gershgorin Circle Theorem as well as matrix norms.
