Abstract

"... In this free will offering or sacrifice of himself Christ calls Christians to communion with God and fellow believers. It is communion in love and unity. This love and unity is what Christ mandates the Christian community to uphold as the new commandment. Therefore, the Christian ritual meal, as a sacrifice and meal of love and unity, should continually foster this new commandment of Christ in the community of believers."
