Academic improvements stand high among the 80 plus objectives --SHU welcomes new mascot, Bucky the Pioneer --One Heart - One Mind is the style of karate taught at S.H.U. and is the philosophy and main theme of its club members. According to Communications Professor Sid Gottlieb, a 5th Dan black belt who started the club on campus 16 years ago, Isshinryu karate is the conditioning of the mind and body to be at peace with one's self and one's environment --Pioneer football is focusing on Bentley --The men’s and women’s cross country teams won medals at the Connecticut Intercollegiate meet at Central Connecticut State University.
