Abstract
Dr. Judea Pearl, professor of computer science at UCLA, is the father of the Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, who was executed by Islamic extremists in Pakistan in 2002. In this article Dr. Pearl speaks about Daniel's life as a journalist, and about the Daniel Pearl Foundation which includes people from all religions and cultures—Christians, Jews, and Muslims; Pakistanis, Israelis, and Palestinians—working together to take a stand for tolerance and humanity.
This talk was presented at Sacred Heart University on February 4, 2008, at a colloquium sponsored by the Center for Christian-Jewish Understanding as part of the undergraduate core curriculum focusing on “The Human Journey.”
