Abstract

In recent days, “work-life” balance is being brought to the surface nationally and internationally and looking at the difference of how this term is seen by others in other countries. In this article, the author says, “The term “work-life balance” was first used in the United Kingdom in the late 1970s and it was implemented in the United States in 1986” (Cite content 5). “Work-life balance” is the balance of “work” which is usually your job or career and then “lifestyle” is spending time with family, pleasure, taking care of your health, or anything else that had to do with your personal life outside of work and taking care of yourself. Having this balance gives the opportunity for people to be able to focus on their job but also know when to step away from their job and the work that it entails and then doing things that you enjoy doing and spending some time to recharge from the long day at work. This ability to spend time of things having to do with your lifestyle allows people to develop outside of the demands of your jobs and maybe discover things about themselves that they didn’t know before or didn’t have the time for. Being able to have this balance and making the time for work but also make the time for the aspects of your personal life it will lead to a good quality of life and life satisfaction.
