Abstract
Within the workforce today there are several differences between Generation X and Generation Y in terms of work ethic. This paper identifies the differences between them and provides an explanation to why this generational gap exists. Numerous studies show that there are significant differences between these generations in terms of technological abilities, employee engagement, having a work life balance etc. while living the American Dream. As a result, these drastic differences have significantly impacted the ways in which Human Resources Departments operate, manage and recruit potential new candidates. Therefore, changing the day to day life of future workforces to come.
