Abstract

This project is a useful three-fold brochure which is to be available for nurses within the Intensive Care Unit at St. Vincent's Medical Center. It provides a basic step-by-step guide as to how to deliver an advanced neurological assessment on the post-operative critical patient. In a handy brochure, the nurse may quickly look up how to perform this essential, yet in-depth task in order to monitor their patient's status during this critical time after surgery. It is the hope that this easy to follow brochure will assist the nurse through this advanced nursing assessment, making them feel more confident with their skills and ability to perform this independently. It also includes signs to report to the healthcare provider and patient teaching information, supporting a holistic approach to health.
