Abstract
The emergence of gender stereotyping has greatly impacted our society. Through various studies, it is evident that stereotyping is a learned behavior. Children become affected through reinforcement of traditional gender roles. Adults have a great impact on this learned behavior and their actions affect children’s development of gender bias. Other factors that endorse gender roles, including TV and social media, create a negative impact on society, especially in terms of cisgender and transgender discrimination in the workforce. Fighting this inequality is essential for the wellbeing of our society. Ways to combat gender bias and the potential impact that can be made on society are also discussed.
