Abstract
There has been much discussion about whether CPR should be performed on any patient who enters cardiac arrest or should be withdrawn for certain patients, such as those with conditions that typically result in a lower survival rate. While performing CPR is the immediate action when someone enters a cardiac arrest, this should be reconsidered due to variation in survival rates among elderly patients and those with chronic illnesses.
