Abstract
The bioavailability, fate and mobility of metals in surface water systems are in a direct relation to the partitioning between the water and the suspended solids. What's more, the direct relation is also determined by the metal itself and all of the other compounds that are present in the liquid system. The presence of metals in the sediments results from the absorption and precipitation of the sediment particles' active sites.
