Abstract

A simple technique has been used for the determination of Nitrite in Water [sic] is described. The Spectrophotometric is applied in the analysis of Nitrite based on its absorbance in the UV and VIS [sic] spectra. This determination also is based on the reaction of nitrite with acidified solution of Indole. Reduced chemical hazard and simplicity represent improvement over existing methods. Detection limit for the method is less than 1 ppm of Nitrite.
