Description
Born in Bethel July 5, 1810, Phineas Taylor Barnum, later know as P.T. would often be referred to as the greatest showman. He was a showman, politican and businessman. In 1871, he partnered with James Bailey to make the American circus (Barnum & Bailey) a huge spectacle and the 'greatest show on earth.' In his later years Barnum, served as mayor of Bridgeport where he settled.
