Description

Connecticut demonologists, Ed and Lorraine Warren helped contribute to the success of The Conjuring movies. The premise of the movies is based on the real life experiences of the Warrens'. For the first and only time in U.S. history, Brookfield resident Arne Johnson, a defendant on trial for murder argued that he was not guilty based on demonic possession. The events of this story are the basis for The Conjuring: The Devil Made me Do It.

The story that inspired the original movie took place in the 1971 in Harrisville, Rhode Island with the Perron family.

The Warrens’ first major case came in 1970 and involved Annabelle, a possessed Raggedy Ann doll and the inspiration for the Annabelle films.
