Abstract
As the student NP prepares for graduation, or the employed NP considers a workplace change, factors that can enhance the work environment can assist in choosing a successful practice setting. Having a supportive workplace environment has been shown to improve work efficiency, enhance the ability to provide high-quality patient care, contribute to cost effectiveness, and promote the retention of NPs in successful collaborative practices in a variety of healthcare settings. To prepare the graduate NP for professional practice, it is important to review the core concepts related to being a professional.
