Abstract
A neurologic basis for autism has been firmly established, but the factors that lead to it have yet to be established. Current science suggest that ASDs result from the interplay of genetics and environment. This chapter reviews current knowledge regarding the neurologic basis of the ASDs and identifies possible genetic and environmental connections.
