Abstract
The goal of this chapter is to describe the behavioral development of the premature infant during the early months of life and the particular challenges faced by preterm infants as opposed to full-term infants. We present guidelines on how pediatricians and pediatric professionals can help parents respond to the needs of their infants over these early months.
