Abstract
Highlights include: Plans for a new residence hall may include a building between eight and ten stories high at a site yet to be determined. In addition to housing residents in a “suite or large apartment style” manner, the new building will also contain two floors of new classrooms --Gina Glorioso, a senior with a double major of biology and chemistry received a 1995 Pfizer Undergraduate Summer fellowship of $5,000 to further research on a biology project she started this fall. Gina will be researching jointly with her mentor. Dr. Shannon Brightman, assistant professor of biology --A special program at Sacred Heart University, entitled The Saturday Hispanic Academy, has been gaining national recognition for its success in keeping Bridgeport’s Latino high school students in school. Recently, it was awarded a $24,000 grant -- For the fourth straight year, one of Professor Jack de Graffenried’s illustration students has had a piece of artwork selected by the Society of Illustrators in New York for their Annual Student Exhibition. Junior Bob Abric, an illustration major from Newtown, CT, was the honored student this year --Seasonal affective disorder changes outlooks --Equestrian team continues winning ways --The Sacred Heart men’s tennis team is ready to serve their second season of competition.
