Abstract

Highlights include: The Pre-Physical Therapy Club became involved with Casey Family Service when Phyllis Machledt,the university’s service learning director, asked it to undertake a Christmas project with the agency. Physical therapy, one of the University’s newest graduate programs, is scheduled to start fall 1996. According to Michael Emery, the first class will consist of 35 students who are currently SHU undergraduates and 10 with undergraduate degrees from SHU or other institutions --The University’s Admissions Office has announced that Kathy Dilks has joined the staff as an admissions counselor --During a White House press conference with more than 100 college reporters, President Clinton vowed to use “the veto pen” to fight Congressional cuts to student aid --Dr. Paul Siff from SHU will lead discussions at the Easton Public Library titled “Fifty Years Ago Today: The Legacy of Pearl Harbor.” The discussions cover the period of American history from Pearl Harbor through the early seventies --Spring meets set for SHU's new track and field team under the direction of coach Christian Morrison and assistant coach Chris Cummings, who specializes in the weight events --Yale and SHU club rugby fight to a 7-7 tie --SHU equestrian team finish strong; four team members advance to Regionals -Women's lacrosse Head Coach Robin Schwartz emphasizes hard work, determination, and self-improvement --Former Sacred Heart University basketball standout, Billy Bayno, has been hired as the head coach of the University of Las Vegas basketball program.
