Abstract
Highlights include: $3 million gift from William H. Pitt to fund health and rec facility --Mayor Joseph P. Ganim intends to fight SHU’s plans for a 9 story classroom and dormitory building on Park Avenue --With the help of Digital Equipment Corporation, the computer department has installed “Internet Firewall Server,” since SHU's system has been hacked twice --This semester at Sacred Heart, the media studies department is conducting a unique course entitled “Seminar in Mass Communications: Television Culture,” instructed by Mary S. Alexander --Focus on student Pickle, born Kevin Richard Horgan, active in Campus Ministry, Habitat for Humanity, Big Brothers/Big Sisters and Connect, which organizes retreats. He also loves to write music lyrics and poetry --Dean Bozzone keeps students on track --Faculty art on display in The Gallery of Contemporary Art --Women’s new ice hockey team beats BU in first win --Men's volleyball in a building year per new head coach Scott Carter.
