Abstract
It was identified that the Boston Med Flight critical care helicopter agency lacked a sufficient process for deciding the appropriate method of bringing parents with the medical crews on critical-care transport flights of pediatric patients to level 1 trauma centers. That being said, we reviewed information from the AJCC, the FAA and other sources to design a decision tree to aid the direction in decision making for the flight nurses, pilots and paramedics when it comes to parents coming along.
