Abstract
This project is a practical approach for beginners in Basic programming. In order for the exercises to serve their purpose, the reader should have access to an APPLE 11+ or APPLE IIE computer, with monitor and at least one disk drive. Also available should be one DOS 3.3 SYSTEM MASTER DISK and one blank disk. The activities will be presented in a "hands on" approach at a pace suitable for the complete novice. It should be stressed that completing all the exercises outlined is extremely important since it is in this summer that the greatest learning benefit can be obtained. I would like to express my gratitude and thanks to Mr. Gene Magi, Chairman, Industrial Arts Department, Trumbull High School for field testing this project and offering many valuable suggestions.
