Description

Graduate of UCONN, Rush-Kittle started her career in law enforcement first with the state Department of Correction, then a Middletown police officer, and state trooper. Rush-Kittle was the first Black female officer on the Middletown police force, and the first Black woman to be named sergeant, lieutenant and major with the state police.

Rush-Kittle also served in the US Army Reserves where she was a member of an all female command team and received the Bronze Star.

Rush-Kittle has also served as deputy commissioner of the Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security.
