Description
The idea for wiffle ball was born in Fairfield when David Nelson Mullany watched his son and a friend play a pick-up game with a perforated plastic golf ball and a broomstick. Neighborhood games led to too many broken windows so Mullany created a lighter plastic ball. The ball was so successful that the company only had one major marketing campaign in the 1960's endorsed by New York Yankee Whitey Ford.
