Description
The first commercial snow-making machine was invented by three men- Art Hunt, Wayne Pierce, and Dave Richey from Tey Manufacturing, as a result of a snowless winter impacting their sales. Based on a similar Canadian invention, they created a machine that would create snow with a paint spray compressor, nozzle and some garden hose. Tey Manufacturing received Patent #2676471 on April 27, 1954. In December 1949, Hunt, Pierce and Richey tested their snowmaking machine at Mohawk Mountain in Cornwall.
