Description
Mary Goodrich Jenson was born in Hartford and grew up in Wethersfield. In 1928, she became the first woman in CT history to receive a pilot's license. As a result, she also became the first woman journalist with her own byline in the Hartford Courant. Her other accolades include the first woman to fly solo from the United States to Cuba and founding member of the Ninety-Nines.
